New Hampshire rebate monies for Renewable Energy

New Hampshire is among the states that offer rebates for replacement of older heating equipment and upgrades to Renewable Energy Systems.

NEW HAMPSHIRE has up to a $6000 rebate for a bulk delivery Wood Pellet Boiler system!  (until the funds run out)

Also some of the electrical utilities also have rebates.

IMPORTANT NOTE ON GEOTHERMAL HEATING SYSTEMS.  Do not assume that the advertised COP's (coefficience of performance) and paybacks are what they appear.  First on your list should always be conservation, air sealing and proper insulation.  With the cost of electricity to run all the pumps in a Geothermal System, the payback time is extended and it may not be as attractive as you first thought.   The electrical power you need has large losses in transmission and distribution that contributes to increased fuel burning, vs. local consumption of LP or Natural Gas in highly efficient condensating boilers and furnaces.  

We are partial to hot water heating in New Hampshire, you can get the energy for heating and domestic hot water via Thermal Solar collectors, Boilerscan be fueled with wood, wood chipc, wood pellets, oil, or gas .  This energy can then be used for radiators, baseboard convectors, unit heaters, radiant heat or converted to warm air for an existing distribution system via an air handler with hot water coil or "hydro air".  You can even get air conditioning for commercial applications with and absorption chiller unit.

PS. Heat pumps and "Ductless Mini-Splits" can be a superior option in many situations.  Many are no rated for decent efficiency in cold weather conditions.  We will give you best advice, without trying to sell you a system or "twist your arm", you will have the information to help you make an informed decision on whether to wait or get the state of the art upgrade.  Planning is the key to getting maximum value in buiding or remodeling.
