Why energy improvements are like lunch.........

Most people don't think about food and lunchtime until they are hungry.  We all are wrapped up in our lives with family, work and projects.

The time to start planning your energy projects is NOW with performance testing of your home and learning what projects are the most cost effective. You can review recommended solutions and plan projects in the most effecient manner.  When you are doing renovations, energy efficiency work is just one part of the project, but I have seen some of these easy to do projects ignored, missed or done inproperly.  It sure does cost a lot more having to go back to correct these oversights.  The old adage, "how are you going to have time to do it again, if you don't take the time to do it right the first time". 

If you wait until the heating season has begun to start weatherization project work it is more difficult.  The weather plays a factor in access to many areas you may need to work such as attic ventilation and drainage work.  Yes, some work is fine to do in the heating season but start planning now to accomplish saving energy all year long.  It is human nature to procrastinate but good thinking to plan.
